What Is The Internet Of Things And How Will It Affect Business In South Africa
“Big data and advanced analytics, the Internet of Things, digital modelling, additive manufacturing, and computer integrated manufacturing. Industry 4.0 not only embraces each of these – and more - but combines them together in order to make a whole that is vastly greater than the sum of its parts”.
I identified a sector in the industry and will describe how it will be impacted.
What is The Internet Of Things
The internet of things is the inter-networking of physical devices or anything else that is embedded with technology that allows these objects to receive and transmit data.
How Will This Affect Businesses In South Africa
It allows different types of businesses to form and change the way traditional business is done. A great example is Uber, that utilized IoT and offered an old service completely refreshed and optimized. Businesses not knowing how to utilize IoT will have short comings and not be able to reach a large potential customer base. Some businesses in South Africa may be reluctant to adapt due to the huge digital divide.
